Introduction

Liquid Web is a web hosting company that has been in business since 1997. They offer a variety of services including shared hosting, managed WordPress hosting, VPS hosting, and dedicated servers.

I have used their managed WordPress hosting service for the past one year and have been happy with the service and support. In this review, I will go over the features of Liquid Web’s managed WordPress hosting service and give my thoughts on whether or not it is a good value for you.

History of Liquid Web

The history of Liquid Web is a long and storied one. As the company has been around since 1997, making them one of the longest-running web hosting providers in the business.

In that time, they’ve managed to build up an impressive array of features and services.

One of the things that set Liquid Web apart from other hosts is its focus on customer service.

They have a team of highly-trained experts who are available 24/7 to help you with any issues you might have.

This commitment to customer service is one of the things that has helped them maintain such a high level of satisfaction over the years.

Another thing that makes Liquid Web stand out is its dedication to security. They offer a wide range of security features, including daily backups, malware scanning, and more.

This makes them a great choice for businesses that need to keep their data safe and secure.

Overall, Liquid Web is a great choice for anyone looking for a reliable and feature-rich web hosting provider. If you need top-notch customer service and security, they’re definitely worth checking out.

My #1 Recommendation for Hosting

If you’re looking for the best hosting provider, look no further. Liquid Web is the only hosting provider I use and recommend (I use various other hostings also for different websites).

I know firsthand that they are a quality company who cares about their clients and their customers’ businesses.

They offer reliable servers with world class customer service and support—you can’t go wrong with Liquid Web!

The company also has over 100,000 customers worldwide and supports over 300 different languages.

You can choose from a variety of plans depending on how much bandwidth and storage space you need access to; these plans start at $13.30 per month (for Managed WordPress) up through $1498 per month (for Database Hosting) and other customizable plans also.

Products and Services

Liquid Web offers a variety of web hosting services to meet the needs of businesses of all sizes.

Liquid Web is a business-class web hosting company that has designed its services around individuals and organizations who need more than just shared hosting providers.

In fact, Liquid Web doesn’t even offer shared hosting.

From VPS hosting to dedicated servers and managed WordPress hosting, they have a solution for every type of website.

Pricing

Their hosting plans start at just $13.30/month, making them one of the most affordable web hosts in the market.

They also have managed WordPress hosting, and that’s the one that most people will be interested in, So I’m going to choose this one to analyze and test out.

From their pricing plan you can see that their cheapest plan is a Spark plan which starts at $13.30 per month you can have one website, 15 Gigabytes of storage and 2 Terabytes of bandwidth.

You can choose and go all the way up to the Enterprise plan which is 250 websites, 800 GB Storage and 10 TB Bandwidth, but for most people, these top four plans will be the ones you’ll be choosing.

1 Bandwidth

Their bandwidth is not really the determining factor here unlike most other hosting providers as you can see in their features section they have a no page view or traffic limit this means they never charge for view counts or,

If you go over their bandwidth limit, they confirm that if our traffic goes over their bandwidth set, the plan will automatically auto-scale and they won’t charge us.

2 Backup

Another must-have feature that liquid web provides is the automatic daily backups this is expected nowadays but a lot of hosting providers don’t give you this so well done to liquid web here.

3 Website migration

Another great feature here that liquid web offers is they will migrate your website for free this means all you have to do once you signed up is to let their team know that you want to move your website over and they will do this for you manually for free this will save you a lot of hassle and is a great feature.

So with all that said it’s very simple to pick your hosting plan it’s based on the number of websites another thing i wanted to quickly mention first is that you’re going to save two months’ worth of hosting if you buy the annual plan here.

So it’s always worth doing that once you’re sure you want to go ahead with the liquid web.

Domain Name

The next thing in terms of pricing that I want to talk about is a domain name, because if you purchase it from nexcess it is part of liquid web’s main company.

It’s gonna cost you $20 per year every single year, So I don’t recommend you do it as when you buy domain names from hosting providers, it’s always gonna cost a lot more and I don’t know why other websites don’t highlight this.

So you can have the domain name from the dedicated websites (if you would like me to review them, please let me know)

I guess if you have the money and you want the convenience then go for nexcess, but if you want to save some money along the way then choose dedicated sites for sure.

Hosting Platforms

Liquid Web offers hosting on the following platforms:

  • Linux
  • Windows
  • Cloud (AWS, Azure and DigitalOcean)

Liquid Web also offers a hybrid cloud solution for those who want the best of both worlds. For example, you can use their cloud control panel to manage your servers from anywhere in the world, but if you need access to an old-school server that isn’t supported by AWS or Azure, they have one available as well.

Managed WordPress Hosting Plans

Liquid Web offers several WordPress hosting plans, including the Managed WordPress Hosting Plan. This plan includes all of the features listed above and more—including:

  • One-click installs of your website or theme from our Content Management System (CMS) dashboard
  • Automatic updates to your site when new versions are available from WPEngine or other third party plugins and themes
  • 24/7 support via phone, email, and live chat

VPS Hosting Plans

The basic plan of $25 is the cheapest option, but it only has 2GB of RAM. It’s ideal for small businesses and individuals who don’t need much storage space or bandwidth.

The Standard plan has more power in terms of CPU and RAM than its cheaper counterpart but at a higher cost.

This makes sense if you’re looking to upgrade your site quickly without spending too much money on resources that won’t be needed in the future.

The Advanced plan offers everything from Basic plus some extras such as SSD drives and extra storage capacity (up to 200 GB).

These upgrades make it possible for more complex websites with high traffic volumes—or even just large databases—to run smoothly without any problems whatsoever!

Managed WooCommerce Plans

The most popular e-commerce platform is WooCommerce. It’s also the most popular CMS, with WordPress being in second place.

Liquid Web offers a great WooCommerce hosting plan that includes a free SSL certificate for your website.

Dedicated Enterprise Hosting Plans

Dedicated servers are available in both Linux and Windows. They’re priced based on the number of cores, RAM, and storage space you choose for your server.

Customers can choose between SSD (solid state drive) or HDD (hard disk drive) storage at each tier.

Dedicated servers backed by a 99.9% uptime guarantee are available in two different tiers:

Load Times and Performance

The load times are fast and the hosting is reliable, secure and scalable. All of this means that you’ll be able to grow your site with no issues.

The backup service is also backed up weekly so you don’t have to worry about losing any data or content when something goes wrong (e.g., a server crash).

If you need assistance with your website, then there’s always someone available at Hepsia who can help answer any questions about setting up new accounts or migrating over from another provider like Bluehost or SiteGround (or even self-hosting).

Add-Ons and Features

Liquid Web offers a variety of add-ons and features, including backups, SSL certificates, and more.

You can also get load balancing, firewalls and other security measures included in your hosting plan.

There are no additional costs for these services; they’re included at no extra cost with every Liquid Web account!

The company also offers unlimited bandwidth as part of its basic plan (which is highly unusual). This means that if you need more than 1 GB per month or 2GB per month respectively then there will be no cap on how much data you can use across all platforms (including mobile devices).

They also use their own servers which they say is faster than renting servers from companies like Digitalocean or Vulture.

But I will make sure to conduct a speed test(later in this article) to really see if this is true or not.

Trial Period

I did take one mark off them as they only provide a 14-day trial, I don’t think this is good enough as there are some limitations when on a trial

Account as opposed to the full account i believe that hosting companies should offer a minimum of a 30-day money back guarantee instead

So you can really try and test it out fully without worrying liquid web does not offer any money-back guarantee policy at all, So this is something you should know.

But I’m going to put them through the test for you so you don’t have to worry and if they pass my standard here then you should have no problems with liquid web.

After purchase setup and ease of use right away from their home page, you can see it looks very easy to navigate with the custom user interface compared to the Cpanel that a lot of other hosting providers use.

The design is also very clean and simple so their main menu is on the left tab here and once you have accessed the website you want to work on everything is laid out in their sub-menu nicely.

For example, if you want to do something with your domain name then you go to the domain section, if you want to add an SSL certificate you can do it here but, if you want to access your website you can do that from the environment section.

Installation

Now let’s see how easy it is to install their Nexcess CDN so from your website dashboard on nexus you can scroll down to the content delivery network section now click on configure click on enable and that’s it it’s done.

You can see how simple that is compared to other free CDN like Cloudflare.

Install SSL

Now the next thing we’re going to try and install is our SSL certificate let’s see how easy that one is so we click on SSL and all you have to do is turn that button on click on enable let’s encrypt and that’s it it’s another one button in store very simple.

The last thing I tried is creating an email account, we can do that by clicking on the email and under email boxes you can click on add now type in the username you want and click on add mailbox, that’s it.

It was that simple to create your email account and now you can log into it by clicking on launch webmail put in your username again and your password you can collect from  click on login and here is your free email box fully set up and running overall.

I think all users especially beginners would love how clean their user interface is and just how easy it is to navigate and do things on your site it was very easy to install everything.

Speed and uptime performance test

So after I had installed the basic WordPress site I went ahead and tested out the speed of the bare bones website using gt metrics the result is just half a second that’s it 0.5 seconds this is an amazing start for liquid web as they are the fastest bare-bones website.

I have tested it out so far so now I will take it a step further and add some design elements to it to increase the page size instead of my usual Cloudflare CDN this content delivery network will also increase the website performance free of charge this will overall make it more comparable to what you would do in real life with these basic optimizations.

After completing the speed is now 1.4 seconds which definitely makes them one of the fastest hosting providers I have tested so far.

They easily pass google’s recommended site load speed of 2-3 seconds.

Now I have also been monitoring the stability performance of liquid web with an uptime robot and can report that their uptime for the last 30 days is a perfect 100 in fact they have not had any downtime for 50 days in a row which is very impressive overall.

They have really amazing speeds one of the best I’ve tested and uptime is solid too, so well done to liquid web overall in the performance department.

A quick question for you,

What is your current page load speed? and Who is your hosting provider?

Customer Support – My personal questions and their feedback

  • Customer Support – The Heroes of the Day!

Customer support is available 24/7, in multiple languages and via phone, email and chat. They’re knowledgeable and helpful when you need them most.

unfortunately they don’t have this 24 7 live chat support on their excess managed WordPress hosting.

So that’s a little bit disappointing here however I will test them out by asking them these three questions below,

One, I will tell them that I have been infected by a virus on my website and asked for their help.

Two I asked them a quick question about their domain name in your cost and,

Three I asked them if they could do me a favor and install an SSL certificate and Cloudflare for me as I am a complete newbie and have no idea how to do this.

And here are the results for the first question,

They were willing to help and looked into it right away they started scanning my website for the malware and promised to send me a report later sadly my malware report never came which was a massive fail for me very disappointed in nexcess support team.

The second question,

They were okay here, my whole issue got resolved in less than five minutes but that’s due to their fast response time however i did have to repeat the same questions a couple of times before i finally got my answer.

and for the last question i had to contact them through submitting a support ticket instead of live chat because they only have live chat open from 8 to 5 p.m eastern standard time which was not as advertised on their main liquid web website.

So I found this to be a little bit misleading here i must say though liquid web’s live chat is 24 7 and they were pretty good.

When I asked them an extra three or four questions there any way for this question they replied to me three hours later which is too long but they did install the SSL certificate for me right away which was a relief.

However, their support team did not offer to install Cloudflare for me and they didn’t even offer to show any guide on how to do it which was very disappointing with regard to their response time.

I contacted them at three different times of the day to make sure I get an overall average and not just a biased fast response time during their off-peak hours so the three times were 2 minutes and 50 seconds 5 seconds and 39 seconds and the average of those times turns out to be around 1 minute and 11second.

Wait,

which is definitely one of the fastest response times from a hosting provider that I’ve tested I think the max wait time for any hosting company should be kept to under 5 minutes which liquid web pass with flying colors.

Overall I would have to score liquid web support only a 4 on 10 I would say their support overall was average at best I had to fail them here as I waited two days and never got my malware report back

This is a very critical issue that they never resolved for me also not having 24 7 live chat support when you’re paying a premium for managed

WordPress hosting is not acceptable.

Pros and Cons

There are a lot of web hosting companies out there, and it can be hard to decide which one is right for you. We’ve done the research and put together a Liquid Web review to help you make an informed decision.

Liquid Web is a reliable web hosting company with fast speeds and excellent customer support. However, they are more expensive than some other web hosts, and their plans don’t include some features that are standard with other companies.

Pros:

-Reliable with fast speeds

-Excellent Speed and Uptime performance

– Intuitive back-end system (Better than C or H Panel)

– eight server locations in four different countries

– free website migration

Cons:

-More expensive than some other web hosts

-No email accounts included in plans

– Chat support team are good then the On call support team

They are right up there when it comes to price speed features and ease of use the only letdown for liquid web or nexus in this  case was their customer support so this is my recommendation for you if you are a beginner or even an advanced user looking for an affordable managed

WordPress hosting provider with great performance,

Then liquid web is a very solid option that I think you should seriously consider however if you require more hand-holding and want more personalized one-on-one support by phone or live chat then I don’t think the liquid web is the right one for you.

Now I think picking the right hosting provider for your business is such a crucial step and you must get it right so if after watching this review you think the liquid web is not the right hosting provider for you then, please do read our other articles for other Web Hosting reviews.

Conclusion

Overall, Liquid Web is a great web hosting company with some amazing features, particularly for those who are looking for managed WordPress hosting. The customer support is excellent and the pricing is very reasonable, especially when you consider all of the features that you get access to. If you’re looking for a new web host, we highly recommend giving Liquid Web a try.
